Around the same time, my friend Morris informed me that our game of choice, Star Wars Miniatures, would cease production and Wizards of the Coast would not renew their license for the game. Wanting to move on to a new game, he thought Warhammer 40K would be fitting. I wasn’t opposed and so it was set in motion.

Seeing as how I always played the Sith or the Empire, by choice, I bought myself some Chaos Space Marines. I have to say that I love painting these and they have been great fun. I plan on expanding my army. Right now, I have some troops and the Chaos Space Marine Terminator Lord as well as a Chaos Space Marine Dæmon Prince. I still have a bit of painting to do on those and I’ll be working on some more painting tonight.

About 8 or 10 years back, I bought some Necrons [hence the name of all my characters online, Necronar (Necron + Armik)]. I painted all of them and had them all set up (except for the rods). I had my friend really excited about playing Warhammer 40K, as well, but he never bought any and ended up not even caring about it anymore. Oh well, right? I mean, there was always the Games Workshop just down the street from me. Except…I have always been a bit socially awkward and throwing me in a group of people who know what they’re doing in the game, had me a bit nervous. I decided not to play, but to display my Necrons on my shelf at home, anyway.

It wasn’t until a few months ago, I started to wonder where my Necrons went. I mean, I moved out of my parents’ place and at one point took a road trip around the country with nothing more than clothes, laptop and a guitar (even though I can’t play for shit – I just got it as gift from my parents at a young age and have always had it). During that time, my Necrons were…somewhere, I just had to find them. My wife and I went to go look in my old storage closet in my old room. Luckily, I found the original box full of my Necrons (and a bag full of Lord of the Rings miniatures from Games Workshop), complete with the empty sprues. However, one of my Necrons is missing a base and one foot. I am also missing 4 green rods and the bases for a few of the floaters.

After my painting of the Chaos Space Marines is complete (at least for a short while), I am going to try to put some time into reworking my Necrons. The current color scheme is the standard one of silver and green. I am going to do a completely new coloring scheme, though. It will most likely be a white/bleached bone and Silver with some red glow. I will also be buying new acrylic rods from Plastruct to replace the green.

I’m really looking forward to working on more Warhammer 40K miniatures. I’ll be updating the website with different Warhammer 40K projects. I’ve built up some confidence while playing Star Wars Miniatures and hopefully I’ll so be able to go to Games Workshop and geek out a bit there. Maybe…
